IT Service Management Community recognizes the need for a more effective way to manage IT performance

November 26th, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. After successful nomination with the ITSMF in the Netherlands for the “Innovation of the Year Award” ITpreneurs is proud to announce finalist positions with the ITSMF in the United Kingdom and Australia as well for the prestigious Innovation Award.

Achieving finalist positions with three ITSMF chapters in mature service management markets presents a strong signal that the service management market is ready for a more effective way to manage the performance of IT. “After years of emphasis on the implementation of IT best practices (ITIL, COBIT, ISO/IEC 20000) a paradigm shift is taking place where organizations now start looking for evidence of the value demonstration of these processes and are looking for a way to obtain better control over IT.” says Arjan Woertman, Senior Product Manager.

A new way to manage the performance of IT

A recent ITpreneurs study (“Trends in IT Performance Management 2008/9”) shows that the majority of organizations rely on spreadsheets to understand and improve the way IT is being managed. Existing tools do not provide the insight IT managers require to take accurate decisions and organizations do not have the knowledge, skills and resources in place to turn this around.

The vision of Metricus is to provide a low-threshold approach towards IT performance management. Metricus provides best practice IT performance metrics (KPIs) that are relevant to an organization and scorecards and dashboards that measure the outcomes and improve the performance of these metrics. Data is extracted from the IT service management tools in place in the organization and is simply uploaded via templates into Metricus, thus avoiding the need for complex integrations and expensive consulting work.

Metricus covers all aspects of IT management through a modular approach. Organizations can simply select the modules relevant for them and scale up if desired.
